Alexis Philpott

Alexis Philpott is an Associate at Tyson & Mendes’ San Diego office.

Ms. Philpott has experience defending insurance companies against breach of contract and insurance bad faith claims. She also has experience representing insured parties against personal injury claims on behalf of insurers. Ms. Philpott’s excellent research and writing skills have led to favorable outcomes for entity defendants in breach of contract and bad faith claims. She has also successfully obtained demurrers and motions to dismiss in personal injury, dependency, breach of contract, and insurance bad faith cases.

Ms. Philpott obtained her J.D. from Chapman University, Dale E. Fowler School of Law in 2022. During law school, she was a member of the Black Law Students Association and Tax Law Society. She was also a Staff Editor on Chapman Law Review during her second year and a Senior Staff Editor during her third year. During law school, she also gained experience as a law clerk representing minor dependents at risk of abuse and neglect with Children’s Law Center of Los Angeles and the Law Offices of Harold LaFlamme. She also worked with the California Franchise Tax Board and the U.S. Small Business Administration Natural Disaster Loan Resolution Center. Prior to law school, Ms. Philpott obtained her B.A. in Communication and Media Studies from the University of California Santa Barbara. During her time at UCSB, Ms. Philpott was a member of Phi Alpha Delta’s pre-law chapter.

In her free time, Ms. Philpott enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending concerts and music festivals, and baking.
